Is this BIG BROTHER

Just watched on the news, there was a manhunt out for a woman who was video taped hiting her child in the backseat of her SUV. I dont want to get into a discusstion about disiplineing children but what dose bother me are the video cameras are everywhere nowdays. They are at stoplights, on the highways, ATMs ect...
Are we at the point of Big Brother? Are we going to have to watch our Ps and Qs? Are we going to be tracked down and drug out of our homes for the least little mistake in judgement?

I'm glad she was caught on tape, I'm all for camera's because I'm not a criminal. I haven't seen the footage on the news but from what I have heard it wasn't a simple slap on the face but a flurry of fists. No child should see a fist coming at them, maybe a paddle or a ruler smack on the hand like the 'ole days but not a fist. Big Brother couldn't of used satellites or the U-2 spyplane for that crime, must of been a parking lot surveillance camera from the store...it is their property to ensure shoplifting and vandalism is prevented.

    It's ridiculous.

One way to find remote camera feeds is to purchase this radio:

    http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/widerxvr/3333.html

While the TV function is useless to me, the unit seems to be quite handy at picking up remote camera feeds.

Kinda funny to be walking down the street looking at the screen and next thing you know, you're on your own mini-TV.

    Good for finding the buggers.

Our city was thinking of adopting camera's on traffic signals, but along with the high price, someone kept shooting the few they were trying out. So they decided the city couldn't afford it.

Guess we just don't fly for stuff like that down south..

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

After pulling the 4 year old girls hair, then putting her in the car seat. The NUMEROUS fists to the head would lead me to believe that the bi*ch deserves whatever she gets. Several felonies pending. A prime example of my signature line.

I haven't seen the footage, but I'm sure it would piss me off if I did...and Lee...I guess shooting out the cameras as they put them up is a pretty good way to get the message accross.

I'm against cameras at intersections, etc...not because I'm a criminal, but simply because I don't like being watched. If I'm driving down the street with my finger in my nose...thats my business and no one else's.

Larry and I seen the footage together.... it was heartbreaking... but one thing that cannot be seen is whether or not the child was hit or if she was hitting the car seat itself... They assume she was hitting the child...and yes, it was a double up fist..not an open hand...
Unless they have video of her actually hitting the child, nothing much will be done as it will boil down to her saying she was hitting the car seat...
Any mother than hits the child like that deserves severe and quick punishment... if she was hitting the car seat, she desperately needs help as the next time it may not be an object...

Having watched the footage, I find it disturbing and disgusting. What really upsets me is that this is one we will see and hear about for days to come. Wish the press would focus on legitimate broadcasts instead of one incident over and over again.

The woman is turning herself in this morning. Bail has been set at $50,000. dollars. For those of you who didn't see the video, the woman looked aroud the parking lot to see if anybody was watching. She had just put her 4 year old girl in the van from the sliding door and then went at her like two drunks in a bar. Hitting her many times.

The sister was also arrested for not turning her sister in for this crime. It is beyond me how anybody can take their fist to a 4 year old girl. The mother had tried to return clothing for money without a reciept, possiable fraud, and was asked to leave the store which is why the surveillance cameras were focused on her in the parking lot, it wasn't by accident.

Now as far as Cameras go, I have always thought they were an invasion of civil Privacy, except were you would expect them like, in stores for shop lifting. I thought everybody knew about cameras in Mall parking lots to prevent Thieves from breaking into your car to steal your booty. Also that is surveillance on private property, just like it would be in your backyard if you put up a camera.

Don't get me started on Government cameras, I'll do a complete turn around on denying the privacy that the Constituion affords me.

Here's what I don't get. This child beater is on constantly on the news channels. If memory seves me, she didnot leave the area.No need for splattering the news channels with it.Mean while, in D.C., F.B.I agents are testifieing to congress, behind screens that, the White House knew about the comming terroist actions before 9/11,and were told to stop their investigations into Al-Queda, and the Bin-laden
connections to the terrorists. And one of the agents testified that Usama was being protected then and HE'S STILL BEING PROTECTED BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT NOW!!!HOW COME THAT'S NOT BEING SPASHED ALL OVER THE NEWS!!!

I saw the tape several times on the news, my jaw went slack. This would have been considered a brutal assault if it had been launched on an adult, much less a small child. As for the cameras, they are in mall parking lots all over and are used successfully for getting shoplifting convictions,(we, as consumers eventually pay for items that are shoplifted)and other things like auto theft.
I would suggest to anyone involved in any lawbreaking activity, to first, leave the country or, find another venue to commit your deeds. Leave me and mine the protection of this type of camera.

Well the problem is LAWS can change. One day it is illegal to kill old people just because they are old. 10 years later it's OK. One day you can spank your kids, but not hit them, then in 5 years you can't even spank them.
Second is that you said, "Leave me and mine to the protection of this type of camera" Now where exactly did that camera protect that little girl from actually being HIT? If you seek punishment for your offenders that is fine for you, but I prefer not to be offended the first time and NO CAMERA will do that!!!!! I don't need big brother because big brother there didn't come to that little girls rescue when she really needed it the first time. Matter of fact, where did big brother's help come for the other times her mom probably did that to her before?

My question is, how was it that no one noticed that she was beating the snot out of her kid in the middle of a parking lot in broad daylight?

And if anyone did notice, why didnt they do anything?

From what I heard on the news, the woman, a member of the Irish Wanderers (a group of migrant gypsy swindlers), was doing one of their standard con jobs: trying to return stolen merchandise to a store for cash. The store employees realized she was trying to screw them, told her to get out, and then apparently manually panned one of the parking lot cameras to try and get her license plate. That's when they captured the beating on tape.

I know people are apathetic these days, but I just cant believe anyone would ignore some psycho-b**ch smacking the crap out of her child in public. I would have cold-cocked her on the spot and waited for the paramedics to sort it out.

Reminds me of the video of the two drunken, shirtless baseball fans beating the crap out of the Kansas City Royals first base coach. The first base umpire and the first baseman himself promptly got right out of the way and just stared like a couple of idiots. Guys had to come out of the dugout to break it up.

People will walk by a car with a child dying in it, walk by a dying person on the street, or walk away from someone who is begging for help, stop a man from beating his wife/girlfriend, drive by an accident without stopping to help.. so why stop a child from being beaten?

"I dont want to get involved"
    "Its not my problem"
"I dont want to get sued"
    "Its none of my business"
Only a few of the asinine reasons for not stopping and helping... Funny how the reasons all have similiar themes... it always has to do with "me"

How many have driven by an accident cause fear of being sued gets in the way of helping?.. Wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that excuse...What about women that are told to yell fire instead of rape?... NO ONE CARES if she is being raped.. but when the tables are turned and your own life is in danger as in a fire... what happens?..
We have become a society concerned with ME... not our fellow man... Who cares what happens to the other guy... Leave me out of it...
That is our society today... Kinda scarey isnt it?

BR, I don't understand the mindset of those 'who don't want to become involved.' Nor do I care to. I have a few times, once saving a guy from a savage beating. I can't change the world, but maybe I can make a small corner of it a little better for a little while.

Also, on your other post, you said something about the woman needing anger management, etc. if she was hitting an inanimnate object to release her emotion. I don't have medical training, but I have punched / kicked hell out of a number of objects over the years when my temper threatened to boil over. I know for a fact that has scared the bejesus out of some people who've observed me in the act, but it works for me. I have never hit a child (my kids were spanked very little - one of them probably too infrequently), a woman, or anyone who wasn't an immediate threat to me, but there have been more than a few inanimate objects which had physical evidence of my displeasure. It may not be an approved method of dealing with my emotions, but as I said, for me it works a lot better than the touchy-feely stuff. And pain / bleeding knuckles cool me off a lot quicker than any words could ever do.

Tools wanted to know how yo'all feel about Being watched? I know that I hate it if I see myself in a scren as it shows how much weight I 've gained or that my quick run to town in ...what ever what ever was handy actualy looks all thrown together. Once a long time ago I knew a friend that left her 11 year old home to watch 2 sleeping babies while she ran to the store to get milk. She took one daughter and the trouble making brothers with her...Yep, the house was on fire when she got back and she grabed her daughters hand and ran to the neighbors, where the the ones she had left home were taken .....NO one was hurt and It turned out a neighbors child started the fire but the picture the Joplin paper showed was of her with a death grip on her daurhter running down the street . Head line "Mother of six leaves children home alone" I was so glad no one was hurt and I think the 11 year old was a hero. I think she should have been given a award but it came across that THe mom was just some horrible parent. We each have been in bad moods and each have said or done things we regret but I really dont want it put down for all of the neighbors to see the next time I tell off tools for some thing I'm mad about. [Do Not think I am on the Beaters side I think it was so sad for the child I just dont want some one to watch me in the bath room at walmart while I chang my Femine protection Ya know what I mean????

The mother hid out with the child for a week before turning herself in.

Just enough time for the little girl to heal.

I have the opposite problem that Black Roses stated. I do get involved sometimes when I shouldn't.

My post on not getting involved did not point anyone out, or accuse anyone... just a general observation of society now... Look at the kids in the car that died... no one stopped... there are so many incidents where a person might have been spared injury or death if someone else..."got involved"...
As someone who was in an abusive situation.. I can say in all honesty and mean it... Da*****.. get involved...

I agree with you. I was just pointing out that I don't have a problem with taking somebodys head and sticking in the seafood dept. of a grocery store after seeing him smack his kid so hard in the head the kid falls down.

    There's a story I didn't mean to tell.
