What are you good with???

Speaking of shooting. What type of firearms are you good with???
What I mean is, can you pick up a pistol and hit a pop can at 50 feet? Maybe a milk jug with your favorite rifle at 200 yards? Rubber band gun, fly at ten feet? Anything like this?

Me-your safe if I have a pistol!
Fairly safe if I have a shotgun!
But you'd better surrender if I have my rolling block in my hands!!!

Of course I can play the piano, as long as it has pedals!

I tend to be pretty good with my .40. I usually shoot from 25-50 ft away from and group pretty well. Rapid fire from 35yrds I can group about 8". That is pretty good for me. That is also what I practic on the farm or in the desert for the last five years.

Shotgun : With my Mossberg 500 with a 28" barrel, I will not miss a clay but with my defender 1300 with a 18 " barrel I will.

Rifles: I havent really tried to much with the AR, I got it couple weeks ago but the sks seems to be pretty accurate at about 50yrs. That is all the space I have at my current local but I will let you know when I get back to the desert in a week or two.All though I dont know of too many rifles that are not that accurate at 50yrds but what do I know. I am mainly a handgum and shotgun guy!

I've got a 22-250 that on the right day I can make a 3 shot group look like 1 at 100 yds. I'm getting pretty consistent with my Glock 19.

Within 40 yards I can shoot my Reflex better than any gun I own. Wherever I put the pin I hit.

Handguns: Ruger Blackhawk 6.5" .357 Long Guns: M1 Garand & Crosman M1 Carbine BB gun They are the only ones that I am naturally good with to pick up, shoot and hit most any given target.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

I take to "Point shooting" really well and after only limited practice with most handguns(to get the feel for the weight),I can hit center of mass at 12-24feet without using the sights at will.I can even squeeze out a few head shot strings as well.I also can hit on target fairly easily shooting from the hip,I never knew it was anything difficult until I was trying to teach a couple of fellars how to do it and they had great difficulty.

I Bump fire with the best of them, fast but expensive fun.The best gun to Bump is hands down an AK-variant.

I have a tricked out AR that I can hold a 3/4" group at 200 with my handloads (.35" MOA at 100), from the bench or prone. Kneeling it opens up to 2.5"-3.25" at 100, and offhand (no sling or other support) 4.5"-5.5" at 100.

With my Kimbers & HK pistols I can hit a milk jug at 50 ft with little effort, with my Glock 21 & 30, I'm close, but miss about as often as hit. I just got a ghost ring sight for the G21, but haven't shot it yet ... hopeing it helps.

My brother has an old 22 rimfire that we use quite a bit for plinking. After getting "warmed up" I can pretty much hit anything larger than a dime at 40 or 50 yards. Funny thing is, this is by far the cheapest gun either of us owns. Probably the most fun too.

My Sendero 7mm mag is the one I call my "go to" gun and I have affectionately dubbed it "old faithful". When I have seconds to make a choice and don't know what terrain or distance I will be exposed to, I go for that one. One ragged hole at 100yds.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

I can hit very well with my Glock 17.

I've also got an extremely accurate S&W model 66 w/ 2.5 inch bbl. and I'll go head-to-head with anybody else and their snub-nosed revolver. This thing will kill a gnat at 25 yards.

My best would be with my Armalite AR10-A2. Its not worth bragging about except to say the gun shoots better than my ability to shoot well. For handguns, I love my .40 but always do better with my old Colt Mark IV (model 70 series) .45 with iron sites.

    For LowRider:
How'd you get your model 66 to shoot so well? I have a new Model 66 with a 4 inch barrel and I couldn't come close at 15 yards what you are doing at 25! I carried a Smith Model 19 for 10 years and it shot great. Now, I am trying to get my 66 to the same level.

Mudge, the more you post, the more I laugh! You're a funny fella. Any way, off the bench everything I got shoots good, even the Remington 597's. As far as puttin' a hurt on someone; M-16, iron sights, 0-500 yds, one hell of a hurt locker. I can wear stuff out with the ole plastic pea shooter. Other than that, it's the guns that shoot well.

Best offhand quick draw : Old buffalo scout 22/22mag I had as a kid. Used to piss grandma off quite a bit. She would hang alluminum pie plates off of tree limbs to scare away hawks so they wouldnt bother her chickens. I liked playing quick draw and shooting from the hip at them as they fluttered around in the wind. I got pretty good at it but havent tried it for a long time.

Pisol: I havent had my kimber long enouph to tell but I think it will take top honors after I get better aquainted with it.

Best Rifle: Browning 7mm mag. have had it for about twenty three years, have a 3-9 leopold on top.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

I've got me a 223 that I can kill a prairie dog with at 1000yards five times out ten. Course, I use them FMJ bullets, they's faster than the soft points. 'sides that, the lead tips on on the SPs will melt on the way to the target 'n ain't enough left to kill a fly.

I learned all these tricks right here on this board, 'n from experts, too, jist ask 'em. Makes me real happy, else wise I'd be havin' no fun at all.

And I'm only 13-years-old. Shi'far, kin you 'magine how much I'll know when I'm all growed up, if my pa lets me.

Uh, thet don't sound right, but ya know what I mean.

Yeah, a .223 may do that but I got one even more impressive. them there imported M44 thingamajigs that shoots the ever so holy 7.62xwhatthehellevers will put Stihl to shame when it comes to knockin down trees. When you get a $100 gun to do a job that normally takes a $400 chain saw, you know you got a gun.

Its not good to brag. Dont run, you'll only die tired, no matter what I'm shooting. I've never been able to practice much on running targets, so I'm not actually sure I'd be a threat on a running target, so the above doesnt really apply unless I've got a semi-automatic. I've never shot at a moving target with my bow either. If its standing still, its dead, period. Handgun, shotgun, rifle, bow, its all the same, lots of fun. We should have a contest someday among all of the GB members. THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF FUN!!!!!

When it comes too shooting, I'm best with my wallet. Everytime I see an advertisment that's selling a gun sure to be a tack driver, my wallet jumps from my pocket to my hand quicker than John Wayne's draw. Thats why I got married. She's so fast she gets to the wallet between my pocket and hand. Truely amazing handspeed!!!!

Hey NotPars: I dunno about the S&W-66. I don't consider myself a deadeye with a handgun, but this .357 just shoots like a million bucks. I've never touched the sight on it either. It's still set just like it came out of the box.

    Just lucky I guess.

I'm pretty good with Glocks in general. I remember taking an old friend to the range for the first time and he aimed as best he could and all his bullets went to the crotch of the silhouette target no matter how hard he tried. I reloaded and put everything in the boiler room and a couple in the head. I shoot relatively short defensive distances, mind you. I'm no Sgt. York.

Not much to brag on but I can hit a 20 oz water bottle at 325 yards with my .300 Weatherby all day. They stay down when you hit 'em too.
