    Went to the Kankakee Illinois gun show this weekend. I bought 3 beanie babies, a Dale Earnhardt poster and a jar of hot horseradish spread....I was greatly disappointed I couldn't find any tube sox.Hopefully next time....

    Sounds like the Kankakee Gun Show was a bust. But I'm interested ... is there anyone from Kankakee on this discussion board? I'm originally from there. When I was a kid I used to go to gun shows there with my Dad and they were pretty neat. But then, I WAS a kid!

    Your experience is typical of what goes on in a lot of shows now. Part of the problem is there are too many shows being held too often, besides the fact that people seem to be holding on to their "good stuff". I remember here in Houston years ago when there was only one local show, held once a year. When the show finally came around, it was something everyone looked forward to, spent all year saving money for, most tables would sell most of what they had, etc.
