I posted thison ask the experts but would like this board's opinions too...I am looking to buy a hi-cap for my 10/22. I'm looking for a 25-30 rounder, but not sure which is best. Butler Creek, Condor, Eagle, Ramline? Sugestions?

Nik.....I have some 25 rndrs....BC....work great, not one prob. I know people I shoot with....that can say the same for their brands...the others you mentioned. Can also say each is a pc. of crap...known people that have had probs w/each brand. I think the reason is A. the .22 hi-caps are ALL plastic...and for the most part, cheaply made. B. it is the firearm...each is different..a few hundreths here and there difference in the fit in the mag well....the "crud" people allow to build up not allowing the bolt to operate/then pulland feed the next round properly. You can prob. figure the 10/22 prob. shares braggin rights with marlins mdl. 60 for the "most"out there in sheer numbers of semi .22s...&prob. the braggin rights for the most dirtyuncleaned rifles. A LOT of people just wont take the time to clean their .22 properly...hence..the "dirty" tag.Figure your average "owner"...1-.22......1- shotgun,..and MAYBE a handgun. The shotgunthey have for home protection, with it in a case unloaded,,,in a closet in the "other" room,,,shells on a closet shelf...in the box.Their .22..the same...their handgun(if they own one...is stored in the same manner as their shotgun....or in their own secret little hiding place thats so secret they'veeven forgot where they put it they have not seen it for so long. Their infrequent "shoot-ing" is done with their .22..in their own minds it is the "cheapest" of their firearms to shoot and doesnt have that awful "kick" or BOOM! They shoot their .22 on a wknd. and to save time...save the cleaning till later in the week or the next weekend. When they do get around to cleaning it they swab the barrel the best they know how, usually with only 2 pcs. of a cleaning rod...because they long time ago lost the part with the handle on it. And WD-40 is the one great miracle in their lives(second only to duct tape) that is the "all you need" to clean a gun.To them "Dewey" is one of the munchkin people that follows snow white around. Someone ask "what time it was? Good, cause I was telling how to build a clockas usual..Back to the point...if I can remember it....Buy what you want in the best condition..NOW. I paid $30 for 4 BC's (3 new in packages/1 used),$20 for 1 used Ram. $30 for 2 new in the packages Rams for a MarkII (14 rounders)....1997 thru 99...and they ALL keep going up.. and harder to findOnce one of these hi-caps fall into the hands of people like most of us here...they are out of the market place........Just my $100 worth........rugernut the clock builder

Thanks for the input. I've seen a few "steel lipped" ones... Are they any better in terms of durability?

I would think the steel lips are better...my BC's have em, my Rams for my MarkII dont, think my Rams for the 10/22 dont have them either would have to check...but as stated...all mine work fine......

I've used the ramline in 3 different 10/22 and the o;nly trouble was the wax coating on the bullets, mainly the cheeper brands. Keepem cleen and they work well.
