Just saw this the other day and thought...
Now there is an idea!
Too bad it requires electricity and wood pellets.

Have to wonder would it do anything without electricity?

I don't know anything about wood pellets. Is it something you make yourself?
I reckon you would if you was a beaver.[:D]
I just got done selling my pellet/corn stove to a friend in the mountains that has been burning tree wood for years.
Pellets are sold by the ton in big bags. Corn is, well, corn.
There's almost no smoke, and plenty of heat; mine ran on a thermostat, used a 12V battery and small solar charger, and would run 5 days on a hopper-full.
I kept a 1200 SqFt house with hardly any insulation warm & toasty even through that really cold spell 2 years ago by burning corn.
Pellets are a bit of a pain though drobs, got a little mould like for bullet making and you press sawdust and glue to make the pellets. I got the six pellet mould and that really helps. I am thinking of getting the automated job that just makes one continuous cylinder and breaks it every 1/2 inch or so.[}:)]
What does a bag of pellets cost and how big are the bags?
Right now pellets are running $189/ton and up in bulk (plus tax & delivery).
Consider that pulp cords of mixed hardwood (4'x4'x8' approx 2 3/4tons each) are currently at $75ea if you order 10 at a time, tax & delivery included
