What to mount on my AR flat top

I have a Bushmaster with the removeable carry handle. I am ok with the iron sights, but have never mounted any kind of optics on it. Any suggestions as to scope or sighting device to mount on the rifle?

    Just a side note: Is there some sort of device that attaches to the flat base and gives the scope the extra height needed to clear the front site?

    I bought the riser block that clamps onto the flat top and gives me the height I need. I can't decide between some sort of red dot or a scope.

    great thing about flattops is there quick to change. I have a red dot for jackrabbits, leupold 4-12 for sagerats and dogs, and a Relfex for those CQB ops. With a good set of quick release rings i can change in about 10 seconds and still hold zero on all the optics.

    The Millett high rings are hard to beat and their service is awesone. I put a 4.5x14 Nikon Buckmaster on my DPMS heavy barrell & it's a great setup.
