Now the wait...Grand Canyon permit

I just submitted my Grand Canyon permit application and now comes the wait...12 or more years!!! The river only allows 262 non-commercial launches per year with an average group size of 10 so thats over 2,000 people running the river on private trips. Don't even add the 10's of thousands of people who pay out the nose for a commerical trip.It sucks that I'll be 40 years old before I can enjoy this river, but that's the price of wildlands management.Brian

    The wait sucks. I did the trip last year with 11 other folks and it was the single-most exciting thing I have ever done. You can practice your guide skills on the San Juan and Green in the meantime.Angus
