salzo-- Dale Carnegie (author of How to Win Friends and Influence People) wrote the book, "Lincoln the Unknown." It's long ago out of print so you will have to check the library, or used book dealers. But this book deals with the personal side of Abe Lincoln...a side seldom dealt with by other writers. Carnegie lived at a time when people were still alive who personally knew and associated with Lincoln. He interviewed many people for the material in his book. It's worth the effort to find a copy.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them.

Speaking of Abe Lincoln, I just heard this morning on FOX News Sunday that some south Kalifornia teachers association has decided to quit recognizing Abe Lincoln's birthday and will instead replace him with a celebration of Caesar Chavez. You believe that?

I'm for calling in airstrikes on that whole stinkin' mess called Kalifornia.

Easy Lowrider, there are still some people that are OK here in Kalif. Unfortunately all the politicians are transplants, probably from somewhere close to you.

I doubt that. Nobody moves from Washington to Kalifornia, but it's a steady stream moving north FROM Kal.

A few weeks back some brain-dead liberal woman wrote a letter to the editor of the local paper complaining about something-or-other and had the audacity to say, "...I moved up here from California over eight years ago, so that practically makes me a native."

If I coulda got my hands around her throat right then...

Lots of "stuff" published in books now days designed to sell books--not intended to convey facts. Too many writers draw remarkable conclusions from limited data...but it makes them rich from book sales.
