Uploading Graphics - HELP!!

I am pretty well a dumbo when it comes to computers .Trying to ,but not succeeding with this problem. I have started a picture gallery with outdoorschat and have uploaded a Gif from my computer hard drive to that site and that is working fine (see the Aussie swaggie below).However , I am trying to upload a picture of a gun from my hard drive to the site and it comes back with ;The file: S+W Model 686 - Right side High color,quarter size.JPG is not a graphics file.I tried converting the photo to a GIF format ,but that did not work either .What exactly is a graphics file if not a JPG or GIF ?? Buggered if I know what to do . Help please .

    There are many more types of graphics files other than.gif and .jpg. It could be the size of your file is too big for where you want to post it as well. If you can try Photoshop to do the conversion.

    I had the same problem with the same error.The problem was when I downloaded and went back to the gallery builder page,I would down load and get same error.Here is the problem,before you down load scroll to end of your address of the picture and you may find jpg at the end is in capitol letters,change it to lower case and then download.This may be your problem too.I hope this helps if not give more details and I will try again.By the way I am no expert either just do not give up.

    Not sure it will help, but I'd change the name of the file to something a lot simpler -- like sw686rs.jpg -- and upload it again. Just a thought.

    Most servers won't recognize those marks in your title. Like the + - or ,comma sign. It doesn't recognize spaces in between words either. Use the underscore sign like this _ so your title is
    S_W_Model_686_Right_side_High_color_quarter_size.JPG
    If that doesn't work shorten the title like sundowner said to less than 20 characters.

    interstatepawnllc - I bought a belt buckle for my holster rig that had unbatoloco on it. I thought that it meant that when I bought it ,but ,there does not appear to be a literal translation that I can find .
    4wheeler - I changed the JPG at the end to jpg .It uploaded this time . Now for the test.

    That seemed to work .Seems a bit strange just changing JPG to jpg to make it work , but thats computers I suppose . Thanks everyone for your help .One more try to make sure it works .

    Aren't you putting yourself at risk having pictures of guns on your computer? What if you have to get your computer repaired and some technician sees them and turns you in to the authorities?

    The serial number is showing on the Ruger too!

    In any case, I hear things are pretty bad down there--if you like guns...

    Competentone - Not a problem . I am fully licensed and all of the pistols I own are registered and legal.
