What harris bipod to get?

I want to get a Harris S for my handi rifle, I'm going to be doing mostly target shooting, and I want to do some groundhog hunting too.

Should I get the 6" - 9" one, or the 9" - 13" one?

Or maybe I should get the shorter one now for more benchrest shooting, and the taller one later.. oh i dunno.

Pack: I bought the real long one for my .17, I believe it extends to around 20 to 24 inches! Makes it real nice for sitting and popping groundhogs!!!

Yeah its probably better to get two seperate ones then try to compensate with one middle of the roader, so Ill get the short one first for the range, and then I'll get that big tall one. Unless of course I do the hunting like they do on tv, big ol table set up near the road looking down over a field. [:D]

The ones for $20 are the ones that go on the barrel, I want one that attaches to the sling stud.

Natchez Shooters Supply has harris bipods for $60, I'll probably get it there cuz Gander Mountain wants $100 (greedy ba$tards)

Consider getting the 'rotating' model..I think it is the 's' model ?

I find that it allows much more latitude in setting the feet on uneven surfaces.

There is no rotating model the "S" model swivels to level the gun side to side but it does not allow you to pivot left to right. That is the one I have. $110

Yep..absolutely right..and rotating for cant is exactly what I meant.
Rereading his question..he said the 'S' model already is what he is looking into.My bad.

ditto the "s" series and I would go with the 6-9". I had the higher ones and sold them. Shooting from a bench or more importantly,..the hood of a truck requires the ability to swivel the stock to maintain an even and level crosshair. "cant" will throw the trajectory off in ~a 45 degree angle upward or downward. I love mine,..and will be buying several more.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

From the "bench" get yourself an "Uncle Bud's Bulls Bag" and fill it with tumbling media or bird seed or rice. You can fill it with sand if you want to but it's going to weigh 42 pounds!!!!!!!!!! Is it steady? Yes!!!! The lighter materials work just fine and then get yourself a 9-13" Harris bipod for carry! GHD

The one I have is the s model! Ditto on the bull bag, that is all I use and it works fine whether your on the bench or the car hood! I made the mistake of filling mine with sand! Didn't take long to take it back out!!! I have it filled now with Plastic Pellets from the injection mold machines at work! There light and they form well around the firearm!
