    I know the movie well.. I too like it... The town Bayou La Batre that is mention in the movie is where I went to school.. It is one little producing seafood town. My uncle is still building shrimp boats there. He has a huge shipyard business there. My grandfather still lives there.. He's 96.

    Its a great movie, very inspirational, and packed full of history. I watch it about three times a year just because. Its so strange the way it makes you feel. So sad yet so very optimistic and upbeat at the same time. Really helps when you feel down. I'd rate it in the top 5 of all time.

    I thought it was a true story for years.

    Favorite scene: Forrest and Bubba scrubbing floor with toothbrushes.
    One side is noticably cleaner than the other.

    Also, the rifle assembly scene.

    Forrest Gump: DONE, DRILL SERGEANT!
    Drill Sergeant: GUUUUUUMP! Why did you put that weapon together so quickly, Gump?
    Forrest Gump: Because you told me to, Drill Sergeant?
    Drill Sergeant: Outstanding, Gump! This is a new company record! If it weren't such a waste of a fine enlisted man I'd recommend you for OCS! You are gonna be a general someday, Gump!
