Youth field day today!!!! Great for the kids!!!

Once a year the local gunclub combined with the Pa Gamecommision, have a youth field day! It is totally free and it is a whole day where kids from 9 to 14 can come spend the day, and shoot trap, muzzle loaders, 22 at silouettes, archery, learn game calling techniques, taxidermy, fly tying, knife and axe throws, wild life and tree identification and map orienteering! They are all fed and at the end of the day they give away a couple of shotguns and a 22. Plus each kid goes home with a bag full of goodies which includes a hat , a orange hunting vest, fishing lures and game calls!
Is this something that is just a local thing or do some of you have similar set ups in your area? Ive attended several and man the kids just love it, and it's suprising how well some of these kids do! Even the kids who have never shot a firearm before in there life.
It's a great idea to keep the younger generation interested in the sport that many of us love so much.

They do the same type of event here. Like you say it is really great for the young-uns. I don't know who has more fun, the kids or the adults that help with the event.
