I bought this old 30/30 Winchester for $150 from my exwifes Grandpa, it is a Nickel Steel Carbine, Serial number 870xxx made in 1922, I almost sold the site off of it till i found out what I have, a site like this went for Over $300,00 on Ebay not to long ago!
It is a Lyman Model 38, and it has the two pop up peeps with windage adjustment! I have been too alot of gunshows and I have yet to see one there.
My question is, I believe there is one part of the site missing, I think there should be some type of a pointer just behind the main mounting screw which should point to the various range graduations on the site! If so I am looking for this pointer!
You can adjust the site by loosening the thumb release and raising the site to various graduations, I have shot several deer with this gun and it is very accurate!
Just curious to know if any of you guys have seen any of these!
