Training dogs...springers

On a recent visit to a Dog training school, I was told that they use remote collars to train the dogs they have. Is this a humane way to train pets? I'm debating wether to drop $200 on something that I know very little about. Does anyone here have any experience with dog training? I could use some pointers.

BTW, Is it me or does my springer never get tired?

be safe,

John

We used one a little to train Bailey -- It only took a couple times & as soon as she heard the beep that is emitted before the shock she followed the commands. Ours you can use sound, shock or both
She is starting to slip a little so I will have to dig it back out & remind her who is boss ( winder if it would work on PA[}:)]

Ours loves to chase a light, flashlight or reflection off something sunny out side --- try it -- it works to tire Bailey out !

I have a friend who has a springer. last time he brought it over the damn dog (AKA speedfreak) spent 45 seconds in my goldfish pond(3' by 8'). It took me 5 minutes to find a doxen goldfish in the lawn.
The only positive thing was when they left the mutt took one last dip before leaping in their car. Did my heart good.lol

Bailey loves to chase things, especially birds, but I can see her going in the pond after the fish!!![:D][^]
