Is it ok to give a dog Immodium?

    Not a vet, but my vet was the one who suggested it. If it is a small dog you probably want to split the table. Also the vet told me to only give it 2 doses 8-12 hours apart (if needed) then bring the dog in.

    I have a golden retreiver that goes 85 lbs and eats anything that won't eat it first so we have the periodic "runs" problems.

    Boiled rice is good and make sure that they have plenty water!


    If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

    Thanks, I will try the Immodium, and hope it stops the runs at least until I can get him to the vet tomorrow morning.

    We gave our dog TUMS ... works great!

    Also I am a US Navy vet.[:D]

    The vet is going to tell you (at least mine does) to take the dog off of everything solide for 24 hours or so. After that they'll want you to feed it chicken or rice I believe.
