Don't know if I should laugh or feel sorry

Just a few minutes ago as I was upstairs getting something to eat I heard this really loud crunching noise come from outside behind my house. I looked out my kitchen window and saw my next door neighbors car jammmed into their steel clothes line pole in their yard. I went out to see what happened and noticed their garage door was almost torn off and my neighbor, a fairly young fellow, was in a total state of panic trying to straighten it. After a few moments I managed to get his attention and asked what happened. In his state of panic all he could do was mumble "remote starter". I managed to calm him down a bit and got the story. Apparantly he installed a remote starter on his car that happened to be a standard shift transmission. The car started up and drove itself through the garage door. He had the wheel turned so it drove through the lawn and scrapped the side of the car from the front to the back when it hit the steel clothes line pole before he managed to stop it. I didn't ask how he stopped the car because by this time as he was telling me the story it was all I could do to keep from busting out laughing. I really do feel bad for him but anyone that lives in the north and has looked into remote starters knows you do not install them on standards.

It is all I can do to get my truck started sitting in the seat much less trying to start it remotely. About 30 years ago my uncle rigged a remote start to his car. This was before there was remote systems available,it turned out better than your story,he did not crash into anything.

Now I have someome elses goof up to laugh at besides my own boo boo. A few weeks ago I did a tune up and brake work on my wifes mini van. While I had the brakes off of her vehicle I ran out of smokes and got into a panic so I decided to hurry up and get done. I had trouble compressing the pistons in the calipers so I had cracked the bleeder valves to aid in the task. After getting the brakes installed and the wheels bolted back on I took the jacks down and settled the van back on the ramps, I jumped in the van, fired it up and forgot to pump the brakes back up. When you first start the van it goes into high idle for about 10 seconds, anyhow I promply stuck it in reverse to back it off the ramps and it took off, I mashed the brake pedal and no brakes! There is a small tree on the side of my driveway and the open door of the van caught it and almost tore it off. What started as a simple tune up and brake job now ended being a major door pillar job with a new door. Bad thing is that wifey had my firebird at work and was due home in less that a half hour, couldnt get it fixed before she got home. Now I am a macho fella who can do anything wrong as far as she is concerned and I NEVER make a boo boo like that (atleast admit to it!). All I can say about that is I was biggtime embarassed and she was pissed! After I tucked my tail between my legs and told her the truth she got hysterical and laughed at me.(talk about an ego shot). To add insult to injury when any of my freinds called she promply told on me. See if I ever work on her vehicle again!
