Martinsburg, West Virginia-AP -- Police in Martinsburg, West Virginia, have arrested a 13-year-old boy on charges of trying to hold up a convenience store.

The manager says the boy demanded an adult magazine behind the counter and pulled a gun when she refused to give it to him. She says she angrily told him to take himself and the gun and get out. And she says she must have scared him because he did.

The manager phoned police and they arrested a suspect about ten minutes later.

What the H E double toothpicks is this world coming to? A couple days ago a kid gets killed for a dollar, and now one tries stealing a magazine from a store. At gunpoint, no less. What ever happened to the days when kids were content to look at the Pennys' catalog?

Brth, about the time there was any thing to look at but the Pennys catalog. Heck, I remember when Playboy was not in a plastic bag and I bought them at 16. Better he play with something besides a handgun!

I dont know about you all, but it seems to me that the boy must have some serious issues he needs to deal with. A thirteen year old boy should have enouph immagination that he shouldn't need a mag to see a naked woman. I remember when I was a teenager just about every girl worth lookin at I could picture naked without effort.lol... If you ask me if I still retain my x-ray vision Ill deny it, lol...

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

Hell I wish I knew who he was I'd buy one and send it to him. There isnt anything wrong with that boy wanting to look at some good looking naked women. Its healthy.

Unless I am wrong, the point of this was that the kid had a gun...Where did he get it? What person leaves a gun around so that a 13 year old can get his hands on it?... If he is pulling a gun for a copy of an adult mag, what's next?

As for giving the kid a copy of it, ..at 13????? If its so friggin healthy, why then is it illegal to sell to minors? If parents would talk to their kids, teach them the facts of life, then maybe, just maybe we wouldnt have so many blinkin fathers and mothers at 13,14, 15 etc... Now be honest, I know many of you are of an older generation, what would your father have done if he caught you with an adult mag?... Give you a copy? I think not.

No matter how much you talk to your kids they will have sex and be interested in it.Its a fact of nature.A kid with a gun at 13 is no surprise evident by all the school shootings. What he did was wrong yes but him not looking at a Playboy isnt going to delay the age he is likely going to have sex at anyway.Especiallyif he is so desperate to see it he will stick up a store. And it is healthier than him wanting a Playgirl.

Yeah, I cant even begin to imagine the untold millions of illegitimate children caused as a direct result of underage porno-viewing. Screw AIDS, that's the silent ravager of America.

Just out of curiousity....you arent married to Jerry Falwell by chance?

    Bullzeye,
If parents talked to the kids a bit more about sex, and the conquences, then perhaps the need to experiment would not be so upmost in their minds.

The "if its so friggin healthy" was a bit of tongue in cheek as the saying goes, but I see the meaning was lost on you as I am sure it will be lost on others.

As for my partner in marriage, you know as well as I do who I married. I did not attack you or anyone on this post but you feel the need to say comment on my marriage?
As for Jerry Falwell, I wouldnt wish that hypocritical bible thumping idiot on anyone...

I realize someone will always disagree with my opinion, as I will with theirs if the need arises.

Kids experiment. The good ones, the bad ones, the parentally-repressed ones, and the unrestricted ones. All of them. For some of them, it takes until they get away from their parents and start experiencing what the real world is about. But even the best parenting cannot totally eliminate it, only mitigate it to a relatively healthy level.

If your parenting has bred a child who never, ever misbehaves, experiments, or acts out, you've either given birth to the second coming of Christ, or you've just raised a future serial-killer.

It was not intended as a comment on your marriage. I actually have no idea who you are married to, nor do I really care. It's none of my business in any case. A similar phrase like "Who's your preacher, Jerry Falwell?" would have worked just as well.

You may have just redeemed yourself

I think most of us did stuff as kids we wouldn't want our own kids to do, but they always will test the boundaries. I was generally a really, really good kid, honest I was, but one of my fondest memories was the day a couple friends and I -- all 14 -- had a free afternoon in a National Forest where we were camping with a youth group whose name I won't mention, and we found a trading post where they would sell us souvenir corncob pipes, pipe tobacco, illegal firecrackers, and Playboy magazine. That was quite an afternoon, as you can imagine! (This was back in the day when Playboy was considered daring.)
