Do not try to shoot ANY 9mm ammunition in a Glock 23 (.40 S&W caliber) pistol. It is the WRONG caliber for that pistol.

I am not sure if I understand your thinking in asking the question.
Trying to fire 9mm ammo in a .40-caliber pistol would be like trying to fire .38 Special ammo in a .41 Mag revolver. They are different calibers and not interchangeable. If you could somehow cause the smaller round to fire in the larger caliber gun, the case would rupture and possibly be dangerous.

Don't fire anything other than what is recommended by the Owner's Manual which you should read thoroughly before you do anything with that gun. However, you can buy a .357 SIG barrel and shoot .357 SIG through it.

I should say the case "could" rupture. Since the bullet would rattle through the barrel without much pressure generated, the case might hold up OK.

First thing is stop what your doing, put your gun down...now you need to find some training, ask someone at your local gun shop, if they don't offer any training, they will know who does. Don't be embarassed, don't be too proud, everyone needs a little help when they start out, some of us got it from our Dads and Granddads, some go to professionals, but everyone has to have some to be a responsible gun owner.

Funny you should bring this up, at this moment.
I was just handed a project, to machine a couple of MP5 barrels. Seems the operators of these fine guns put 9mm rounds in the 40 cal guns. On one barrel the 9mm round fired, caseing split, and stayed in the barrel. Next 40 cal round fired, stayed in barrel, next round 40 cal. stayed in barrel. On this barrel I took a cut, down the side of the barrel, to expose the casing, bullet, bullet, swollen bulge. As I understand it this is going to be mounted on a plaque, and given to the operator, upon their retirement.
The other barrel was similary cut. This time exposing copper bullet jacket only fused to side of barrel, cause the next round down the barrel to punch through. Also leaving the telltale barrel bulge. This one is to used, for training purposes on how not to mix 9mm rounds and a 40 cal gun.
Two lucky operators, no injuries. The wonders of soft metals in barrels.

    Here's a question then...

ANyone know of an aftermarket barrel that will fire 9mm from a Glock 22?

My gun is prettier than yours, and it's a Glock!
