Just Harvested My 1st. Watermelons!

Well guys,
I just harvested my first Carolina Gray watermelons and cut the first one. Umm Umm Good! This baby weighed 31lbs. and you could see the sugar content when we split it!
I can't wait 'till the 2 I put on ice are good and cold.
We're gonna' have a "Melon Bust" this afternoon when we finish clearing brush from the back pasture fence line.
One of life's little pleasures!

    You bet it's hot, Doors.
    When we took a break a few minutes ago, I stripped out of my clothes, totally soaked from sweat, took a shower to cool off, and had a little bit of melon for lunch.
    I don't know what the weather man says the temp. is. But, I can tell you, that when you're bustin' butt clearing brush in the middle of the day, in the middle of August, in SouthEast Texas, the temperature has to be higher than my I. Q.
    We got to be crazy to be doing this!
    I think now that I'm cooled off I'm gonna' stay inside for a little while and enjoy the AC. The brush can wait 'till later.

    I envy your good fortune. I planted some sugar babies and they hardly have any size to them at all. They're only supposed to get to about 8-12 lbs. each, but considering how long they've been in the ground, they aren't even half that size yet.[:(][:(]

    It's a dog-eat-dog world...and nine times out of ten I have on Milk-Bone underwear.
