That is a nice Kansas buck. Lots of BBQing to come. My deer season starts this weekend. Any Blacktail that I get will probably lay neatly between his horns. Body and all.

I'm sure there is more backstrap on that critter, than you want to put in your freezer, so you can send it my way anytime. What gun? How far? Where did you hit it?

Nice Buck ol'boy! Tell me, am I correct in thinking that was taken with muzzle loader recently? (thought I could see just a hint of a bead of perspiration under your brow..) Last years rifle season here in KS was so warm we were in short sleeves! Down side was we couldn't hang the Deer like we normally do, had to process them right away which is kinda of a mess in the field with the frezzer paper and all... Looks like country around Kingman, am I close?

I'm glad you got here to hunt. BTW my hunting predictions, Quail up, Pheasants down, Deer all around while the Ducks and Geese come on down!

Thanks guys. I got him near Sedan KA. I had never shot a muzzle loader till two days before. I used the new Thompson Omega in 50 cal.

There was defiantly divine guidance involved. He was 136 yards away. I had iron sites, And a two foot opening to shoot through. My camera man grunted just as he stepped in the opening. He dropped in his tracks. Lucky, lucky me.

We got to watch him and three other bucks rub off there velvet in a sumac patch for two hours. We also grunted up two smaller bucks, And three does to whiten twenty yards. Most people think deer calls are for the rut. I used soft contact grunts. They work year round

The next day I called in three coyotes during four set ups.

Now I have to go face the Doctors. It was all worth it though.
