For those of us that are afflicted with barrel break in procedures. I was half way through breaking in my new Shilen Super Match. Thirty rounds and twelve chickens when I read this in Glenn Newick's book The Ultimate in Rifle Accuracy.

He had a tip that has worked great for me. Use black powder cleaning solvent on the first patch through the bore. I tried it, And it has cut my cleaning time in half. Try it on a clean bore . You will be amazed at how black the patch will come out.

    Always keep several
    get well cards on the mantle...
    So if unexpected guests arrive,
    they will think you've been sick
    and unable to clean.

    Jamie, I use dem little glases what day chop in half. Me I can see a tick width dem.

    Got another Quart on today. Rest the legs, And maybe get another one tomorrow.
