Trying to remain calm

I just heard the St. Louis Cardinals have ask for permission to talk to Ryne Sandberg to replace Tony Larussa...

All Chicago Cubs fans want him to manage the team and now St Louis is interviewing the guy.

This could be worse than the Lou Brock trade.

Work just banned Leatherman or multitools. How am I supposed to extract ear plugs? How am I supposed to cut seals? You know how hard it is to find a 6mm wrench when you need one?

I think I'll fill out a safety observation suggesting crescent wrenches should be banned because they are not real wrenches. There is always a better tool to use besides a crescent wrench.

Leatherman tools are not us safe!

So do they arrest you and haul you away if they catch you caressing your tool? [;)]

What happens if you're found with one?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Do you. mean open end adjustable wrench?
Our safety dept. also banned "Crescent wrenches" after a millwright dropped a 16" open end adjustable wrench on a fellow worker's head.
They also banned bicycles after a seat broke off and the stem injured a workman's, uh, er, rectum.

the world is becoming to PC . we were not allowed to have a pocket knife but our department all carried the razor box knifes or similar
later on they ban them . its been three years since I left but at that time a lot of us carried leathermans , sort of gray area at the time since it was a knife also ,
they may have ban them by now.
too many self inflecting cuts to them self impacting safety records

I was considered "management " even thought I was on the bottom step
but I ask many times about stupid rules , one was we all for the most part had access to the maintenance shop where a large assortment of sharp moving tools and objects and cutting welding , well you know what's in a repair area.
that no one was ever ask or trained they just seem to assume if you were using it you what you were doing [B)][B)]
so no one would ask that I ever knew of if you were in the area using the tools ( I would and some of the ES would at least help guide the newbies if ask )
but then I guess taking a band saw to some one was unlikely compared to stabbing them with a pocket knife [:0][:0][:D][:D][:D]

Need to ban Forks, Knives, Pencils, wooden or plastic rulers, cold medicine, cars, mega meals, cell phone batteries, under wire bras (do they even let women fly with those concealed spears?), violent video games, contact sports, aerosols, flammables, yarn, twine, rope, fishing string, fishing (hurts the fish), new stuff (apparently it all emits Formaldehyde), artificial sweeteners, colors, and additives, alcoholic beverages, sugar free or sugar full ingredients, cleaning products, paper (wicked cuts), electricity, slums, Etc. all of these are dangerous to health in some way.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Oh crap. People are that stupid to ban it? The 15inch open end adjustable wrench is my goto for defense in a workplace shooter incident.

That reminds me. Why is there not a plan in the Emergency Action Plan for workplace shooter?

You should have seen the look on the head of airport security when I told her I always took my toolbox around her security checkpoints.
She said I was not allowed to do that.
I said OK then your explosive scanners won't be repaired.
She just said don't make a big deal about it and keep an eye on the tools.

And to think all this PC crap started with the banning of lead in paint!

Those making all the rules these days are the ones that were chewing on the walls and crib rails before the ban![:0]

One place I was at Banned box knives that did not have an Auto retract feature.
Just about wore out my thumb keeping that damned thing open. It also put your wrist at an odd angle so it also started hurting.

Also in my area they did not cut deep enough. Put insulation in RV roofs.

Is it for safety, or is it because idiots use the pliers to round off bolts and nuts?

We don't ban adjustable wrenches, but do insist upon using the correct tool for the job. Few things looks worse than a new machine going out where someone has damaged a bolt or nut because they did not use the correct tool.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.
