Thinking about a night vision optical for hunting feral hogs in the Texas bush after dark.

Budget is $3-4K. Not too heavy, not too bulky.

Anyone have recommendations or comments?

Thanks!

Does anyone have any experience with the ATN MK 390 Paladin night vision scope?
It's a 4X with an I R illuminator. I just picked it up and haven't had a chance to fool with it other than taking it out of the box.
I had some luck at the casino so I treated myself to a new toy. I was gonna buy a gun but ran onto the night vision at Bass Pro so I said what the neck.
Anyway, if anyone has any practical experience please post on what you like or dislike about it.

I have been interested in night vision type optics for awhile now but can't get myself to buy any because I think I would only be satisfied with the best. Which equates to thousands of dollars. Has anyone ever had any night vision binoculars or scopes. Whats the pro and con, good and bad of whats available.

I was at a show where the national guard was showing their equipment and was amazed at the night vision gear that they are using. I even got a chance to look through the night vision scoped M16 and night turned into day.

There are several thing my wife says "why the heck did you buy them".

The gen 3 night vision monocular I bought on GunBroker is not one of them. They stay in the kitchen cabinet by the patio door. She feels safer with them. Don't have a clue how often she uses them but she wants them in the kitchen.

If there are a few folks out here who have tried night vision and would care to share their experiences both good and bad
    sure would like to hear
we dont know anyone who had tried any of these yet. see some generation I out there for as little as $100.00
was curious what kind of results we mght expect to achieve with some of the models
and could somebody please tell us if these would be a viable method of actually hitting the target mounted on a rifle at night? Thanks!
