Got my Hurricane Chore done - (Ladder Update.)

24' extension ladder, extended up to about 30'. I have an extremely steep pitched A frame. (3 stories up.) I got up on the roof, via the ladder placed along its angle, alongside my Chimney.

Chimney is a natural rock, 5' wide. Where the roof meets the chimney it has accumulated leaves and debris, older leaves from last year had turned to nice rich dark soil.

I was afraid if it REALLY poured the rain, it would over-run the leaves, and my flashing and cause a leak. Got up there with a stiff broom. (Ended up mainly using my hands.) Got everything cleaned out. (Dog was none too happy to be left out.) [:0][B)][V]

It has needed to be done for a while now. This storm made it happen. Feel much better now.

Glad he did not try to climb the ladder get about half way and get stuck. Big dogs are a pain to get back down especially when you are above them.[8D]

Oh,..............If he was not hooked up to his back deck trolley lead, he would have tried to climb up. He was very vocal about my having left him behind. (He is way spoiled, thinks he needs to be attached at the hip.)

His lead let him get about 2-3 feet up the ladder.

Okay, when I got to work this AM and looked in prior to going in to work, I saw RemOaks had chimed in about my mathematically impossible ladder. [:0][B)][V]

Just got home from work, went to look at said ladder. 15 rungs, each end rung approx. 1' from the end. So what, a 17' overall (un-extended ladder?)

Ha ha ha ha. Take that Beotches. [:D][}:)]

As much as I would like to be able to help Joe, I'd recommend you try and contact Iceracerx. He is apparently the Ladder Specialist on these Forums. [:D]

I have a 24' extension ladder and I have to put it in the bed of my truck and extend it all the way to get at one side of my house.

I am sure this is frowned upon by most people but you got to do what ya got to do sometimes.

I don?t know about the rest of you, but I have managed to get 30? out of a 24? extension ladder. And over 99% will not know how! [:)]

I was a lot younger and didn?t worry so much about not bouncing. Had it the the bucket of the tractor to spray the peak of the barn.
Now I seldom get more than about 18 on a 24 footer.

Huh? Did I miss something there?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Sigh,...............................You are coming late to the party Randy. [:D]

If I was really concerned about "deleting things," you think I would have modified that little bit of the post. [;)] I've got no problem at laughing about/at myself.

Did you read the whole thread?

I'm figuring a little special someone is "monitoring" this and will be along shortly. LOL. [:0][B)][:D][}:)]

After catching flak here, I went to look at the Ladder in question. 15 rungs, each a foot from the end of the ladder. (17' OAL?) I knew how far I had extended the ladder up my roofline. I misjudged and typed it was a 24' (12' un-extended) ladder. Apparently there is a great deal of subterfuge going on. Nefarious "deleting" etc. I've been quite amused as to the following exchanges from one Special Member. It's been quite entertaining. His "Gotcha" moment. I'm really happy he was able to complete his mission.

So, it didn't occur to you at the moment you posted that, that hey maybe the ladder is taller?

    Ken, I think you're losing it.[:D]

I guess I was not paying attention to the minutia. That's what I get, I guess. As stated before, I've got no problem with laughing at myself. [:0][B)][:D]
