I think if you ask for a drug called Neurotin or the genaric Gabapentin it will help with the nerve damage problems.

I had cancer stick to a nerve in my lymphnodes and they either cut the nerve and got the cancer off or scraped the nerve and got the cancer off. I am pretty sure they cut the nerve.

Anyway i could be walking across the living room or watching tv and it would feel like i was struck by lightning and it could last 5 or 10 minuets.

The pain was so bad i prayed to die. It never made sense when it would come or go but when it came there was nothing i could do for it.

Pain medicine did not touch this.

After about 1 year i went to another doctor and he prescribed this medicine and it helped. It had no side effect for me it is not like a pain medicine you can not feel it work.

I was on the medicine about 2 years and after i went 2 months without any episode i stopped taking it.

I read somewhere it takes a nerve 1 year to repair itself 1/8 of an inch.

Ask about the medicine. You might not be able to take it with chemo. Also it does not work overnight and you will still hurt like hell but it will help.

I too have seen things that are hard for people to see. When i had cancer i had to go through UNC kids hospital sometimes for test. I have seen kids without noses with holes their and things worse than that.

I had way less than a 20% chance to make it. Numbers are just numbers. Although i am a numbers guy. I never asked why me or what did i do to deserve this. Asking never helps fixing anything.

When i told my Mom and Dad that i had cancer and that it was bad my Dad asked me 1 question.

He asked me if i was going to fight like hell or lay down and die. I asked my Dad if i ever quit anything and he said nope and the conversation was over.

The best advice i can give you is to try and be extra nice to your caregivers. Your family included.

I woke up at least 4 different times to go to the bathroom late at night and my wife was not in bed. I would make the effort to go into the living room to make sure she was ok and she would be crying.

That would tear my heart up because i was making her cry. Thats a hard thing for me because i have never made my wife cry before.

Whenever my doctor calls me i will find out what i have if i have anything. I hope i am lucky and that the 2 bright spots are my bladder and where i pee from.

I will say waiting is hard to do.[:(] If you ever need someone to talk to hit me up.
