Is the bidder a bum?

This is a first for me. I only have a few sales here, but I have a lot on another non gun auction site. I have never had a bidder that didn't make good. My auction ended a week ago today, and I haven't heard from the bidder. I have e-mailed him three times and no reply. I wouldn't be pissed normally, however I had another bidder so I feel this person screwed me and the other bidder. What would you do!

If you can get ahold of his phone number like on a no-paying bidder on here call him...If not just sell your piece and keep a copy of all your e-mails to him if he gives you a bad grade put in responce i e-mailed him no reply i have copies..Good luck

I believe the bidder has 10 days to respond.. There could be some very legit reasons for him/her not answering you.. comp is down.. in hospital.. etc.. If at the end of 10 days.. contact ebay.. then email the buyer informing him/her of your intentions, and then email the back up bidder and offer the article to them..

I have had this happen to me as well.. one didnt ever bother to reply.. and the second time it happened, the person was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery.. after 12 days I believe it was, they contacted me, full of apologies, and paid for the article in full, with an additional 5 dollars for any inconvenience I went thru...
Needless to say, I returned the 5 dollars when I shipped the article..
    Good luck

Well all my faith is auction people has been restored. The bidder contacted me today, he said he e-mailed me earlier but I never received it. Anyway I guess, I jumped the gun. I guess I learned a lesson, be PATIENT.

Her's a question for ya'.Would you buy from a seller, who has no rating and is selling a firearm for $1400?

martski, I've sold hundreds of items on several sites. I've had a few bad experiences with people, but 90+% of the delayed contacts have been for legitimate reasons, including, most frequently, a breakdown in eml for some reason. To give an example, He Dog wished to contact me off forum; it took multiple tries with several different accounts before this happened. Neither of us know - or care - why, but things like this do happen. When I see negative feedback, of course, I look closely. Often, it's clear the seller got his knickers in a knot because of such an innocent breakdown. As a matter of personal principle, I usually avoid doinig business with people who are so quick to criticize.

josey that $1400 gun would have to be one hell of a good deal (for me) to take that chance.
