I always liked the name "Sarah-Nicole". By the way, congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have you bought "baby's first rifle" yet?

Congrats. I remember the feeling of a newborn child a all the things that would transpire throughout the years.
Trust a father and relish the young one for when they become teenagers its quite testing at times to sat the least.

    Congratulations....
However, you messed up and didn't put the stem on the apple. Actually, I have the perfect names for girls. Two choices.....
    1. Bailey Rene', or Renee' if you want to spell it that way.
    2. Aubree Nicole.....
When you call them using their first name and middle name, they know they are in trouble.

I like Leah or Erica. But tell me, what is the family name? Some names go together better than others.

    Congrats,
How about a good irish name like Kyleigh Fionna. That is what we were going to name our 8 week old, until he came out with a stem. Now its Sean Patrick McNeely.

Congratulations on the new baby. Whatever you decide to name her, remember when you are talking to her, tell her how much you love her, not just now, but for the rest of your life.

Congratulations. Girls are great. Most become "Daddy's girls" which is something special. Couldn't decide on 2 for my youngest. Decided on 3. Heather Helene Marye. Fell free to copy.

Yes, the male is responsible for the sex of the child, so I guess your wife is justified in giving you the responsiblity to come up with a name.

What was the boy's name that you had picked out?

    Can you feminize it?

(And why wasn't there a contingency plan to deal with this situation BEFORE the birth?!?)

I wanted to name my daughter Donna Michelle; she ended up Sarah Elizabeth (nice choices, woodsrunner! . Whatever you do, try to make it somewhat alliterative with your last name, give some thought to initials and possible nicknames in combination with your family name and do not, under any circumstances, try to come up with something cute. One disastrous result: a person of my acquaintance named his daughter Vera; their family name begins with a "D" - poor kid already has vowed to change it when she comes of age. Or the really bright parents of another poor kid who intentioanlly gave her the name "Victoria Cassandra Ruth" so her initials would be "VCR" for short.

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!

I envy you. My youngest is 17. You have a lot of joy ahead of you. Some headaches, as well, but nothing compared to the joy. Someone on this board has a signature line urging people to enjoy their kids when they are young because too soon they grow up and are not interested in spending time w/ their parents. I tried to do that. Didn't as much as I'd wanted to or, in retrospect, should have. My one word of advice - any time your kid asks for your time, bust your butt to give it to them. You will never regret it.

Since hubby and I have had four children we are experts at this name thing. Our oldest was born just after Christmas so we named her Felicia Sue, with her middle name the same as mine and my mother's-family tradition. Our next daughter was named after my husband's grandmother and my grandmother-Arleatha De'Etta, and our third daughter received a combo name honoring our mothers, Karella with Denise being given as a middle name as chosen by a very close friend. My mother's name is Karen and my mother-in-law is Francella, i.e.- Karella. Honoring both sides of the family with a combination of names endears the little one to all and gives the children a sense of heritage as they grow older. The youngest daughter is now 10 and they all enjoy hearing how their names were chosen.

We have a Tina and a Sarah. I like the nice old fashioned name Clara, too. I also agree, a girl will always be "Daddy's Girl".

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

We only have a few special years with our children in which they desire our time, attention, and love. After that time is over, it is gone forever, and we will be the ones that desire their time, attention, and love. Make those few, short years count -
