FREE Gun Show!

I went to my local gun show this weekend and got in FREE! They said that because there was a small turnout of vendors they decided to nix the entrance fee. The best part was I actually found a bunch of small parts I was looking for this time!

I just wish those stupid coin dealers and those people selling crappy nick-nacks would go away. Who buys that stuff at a gun show??

The crap dealers try to interest the wives and kids who didn't want to come or were forced to come. They don't interest most of us here on the board, but even bottom feeders have a purpose(bad choice of words). Anyway not everyone who shows up at a gun show in interested in guns.

I still havent been to a gun show... but am looking forward to my first one... supposed to be in aug sometime...(Classic, what did you do to me?????... first the range, now gun shows.. what next? ) *LOL.
    Just teasing..
Anywho... bout the other dealers at gun shows... I for one wish they would have more...and add perhaps a ride or two for the kids... Now before you jump to the sky.. hear me out..
Too often on weekends, families separate with the father going one way.. kids another, and mom is doing her thing.... What better way for a family to spend the day together than at a show? Dads can look at guns, shoot the breeze, moms can look at other stuff, and kids can have the rides or whatever.... They may not be together per say, but at least they are all in one spot and can talk about "all the fun" on the way home...
Classic and I frequent flea markets and one that caught my eye was one that had guns, other stuff...(new and old), and pony rides for the kids...
Mom wandered around, dad was at the guns.... and guess where the kids were?.. yep.. on the ponies.... I seen them later when Classic and I stopped for a soda.. all sitting together eating hotdogs and drinking sodas and TALKING!!! Well being nosy, I stood and listened for a bit....Mom pulled out what she had bought, dad did the same.. (a gun)and the kids were talking about the neat horsey.. but that isnt the point.. the point is that although each had done something different, it was being talked about and listened to...and it was a FAMILY TIME..
Something that is needed... FAMILY TIME..

Was it at one of the Gibraltar trade centers? The last couple of shows I went to before I left Det. really sucked. Only half the place was full and they did want 5 bucks to get in. Nothing like the shows that used to be held at the Light Guard Armoury. What ever happened to those?

    5 BUCKS...5 BUCKS ....!!!!!!!!
Around here ( Tulsa ) the tab is 7 and 8 dollars to get in the door. Some shows now have 10, 15 tables,sometimes...
BlackRoses, jeeze, you sound like a perfect woman...Classic,watch youse step...women like that don't come along every day.I have been reading you two since you came aboard, and you both seem to be mighty happy. Power to you both.

Yup, the Gibraltar Trade Center in Taylor!

Are you from the area? I live within a few miles of the place.

Yeah, lazywallrus, you're right. The shows are terrible compared to other, much larger ones elsewhere. But, you take what you can get!

Oh, and BlackRoses, I agree with you. BUT, the Gibraltar Trade Center is one huge flea market ALREADY!! I don't see why those vendors have to actually be in the gun show area too (except maybe to help fill the tables since there aren't too many vendors).

    BlackRoses,
Get a copy of the Gun List. They have a section in the back that list about 3 months of gun shows all around the country.
