If its .45 ACP I'll take it off your hands. I think there is only one known to exist in that caliber and its got to be worth a million bucks. Another really rare one has the magazine shot counter built into the frame.

Tools, the average Luger from that period, not being one of the rare examples, would go for between $650 and $1000 depending on condition and if all the parts numbers match.

Also take a look at the breach block, parallel to the extractor. See if you see a crack there (often looks like nothing more than a pencil line of soot).

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

I was abel to look at the gun today. It is a WWII bring back. 9mm, Dated 1940, The serial number is 532*, There is a fancy A on the frame under the barrel, It says something like Gerisnotz under the safty, All numbers match even the mag. It has the Nazi marking of the eagel and swstika on the barrel. The finish is very nice except where someone tried to clean a spot to see some markings. And the Killer is. The trigger guard is bent.

The bend can be straightened easy enough. Is it a Mauser? Very rare to have the matching mag. I draw the line at $1000 for a mil spec Luger. I pitch a fit over the bend and offer $650.You never know.

I dont know who made it. I thought the fancy A might be makers mark.

Is the A directly under the serial number? If so, it is a part of the serial number itself (3456A) for example. BTW, if anyone has a Luger, make sure you include the alpha number when recording the serial number since the Germans ran the numbers 1-9999; started again with 1-9999A, B, etc., so hundreds of Lugers could have what appears to be the same serial number. Try explaining to the police that your Luger is not the one stolen.)

IMO, all matching, including the magazine, with the bent trigger guard--$600 - $800.

The real experts are at lugerforum.com. For confirmation may I suggest you check with them. Good luck.

    Hary Thanks
The A is under the barrel on the frame and is a fancy script. It is not part of the serial number. The serial number is only 4 digets.

Tools1: All of the alpha characters are in the old German script--and they are part of the serial number. On the lugerforum they have a couple of pages of the different scripts used by the manufacturers.

    who made it?

It will be marked on toggle... is it a fancy script DWM? S/42? Mauser banner? there will be something on it... does it say "Germany" anywhere? does barrel, toggle, frame, side cover, all have numbers and do they match sn (last 2 digits)?

It does not have any markings other than the serial number. All parts even the mag have the last 2 digits on them.
