How much do you think a can of m1 garand ammo is worth in today's market? It is 384 rounds in a sealed metal box with the bandolers. The ammo is 3006 wwII surplus. Last time I was told under 200 bucks.

Well over $300 I would bet....192 rd bandoleers in the sealed can are currently at $227 on the auction side.

Currently at CMP you can get 200 rnds loose , Greek surplus,
about $110 shipped to the lower 48. I think yours would be nicely priced at $ 250 + ship

CMP price typically doubles when it hits GB [;)]

    110 for 200....
    250 for 384.....
seems pretty close to double to me...[:D]

on top of which , I didn't see any mention of auction pricing.
Perhaps his neighbor wants a can...
Obviously, today, it is worth what one can get for it.

Recently made stuff is going for $1 to $1.25 per round from what I see. I see higher asking prices but not sure if it's selling.

Don't know if WW II vintage ammo would sell so high. If corrosive no way. Many buyers will be leery (with good cause) of ammo that old. I have experienced unreliable ignition with older ammo.

If you want to sell it list it on auction starting at $100. Bidders will tell you what it's worth. Right NOW is the good time to sell due to the panic buying.

For me a recent purchase of vintage ammo was about $0.80 a round. Cheapest USA made non-military factory ammo about $0.85 to $0.90 a round.

If it were the 30 cal can with 192 rnds on clips in bands the cmp HAD them for $110 shipped. The 50 cal can is double that. I would not pay 1 cent over $220. You can still order 2 .30 cal cans with 200 rounds loose and 25 pack of clips delivered for $250. Thats 400 rounds 2 30 cal cans on clips for $250 (62.5 cents per rnd). You said it's sealed, but the pictures shows it's open. Is the can pictured the can for sale? Sealed makes a BIG difference. I would say you will most likely see $240 or more

I don't think we will ever see 3006 at fifty cents a round again, but if we do it will be the older and oldest stuff still out there.

In the past 2 months I have gotten 3 cans of 200 rnds loose ammo and it's been all 70's production head stamps. There has been a few LC 68 to show up.

The date will likely be part of the headstamp. Bidders will want to see it.

Lot # is way past the conversion to non-corrosive; you will get top $.
