I need advice about parents

Unfortunately both of my parents are not feeling well. My mom has a doctors appointment Monday and i called today and asked how everything was going and they said fine. I called my sister later and she told me that mom was not feeling good and her doctor referred her to a specialist Monday.

I have to call my parents every other day and let them know how i am doing but they will not tell me how they are because they know im sick and dont want to worry me. I dont want to disrespect them but how can i get them to tell me the truth about how they feel.

Their house is in my name and my names on their banking accounts and safe deposite boxes so i know they trust me but they just dont want to worry me. I just cant get them to tell me when they feel bad.

That is a difficult situation. But, it may not be important if your sister is aware of their health problems; she may be, & your parents may have insisted that she not burden you.

Someone in your family needs to have power of attorney, as well as health care power of attorney, for your parents. (And, they need a will.) Talk to your sister (or other siblings, if there any that are close). At some point in your parents lives, one of the children should be taking them to medical appointments; if not now, there's really nothing that can be done. But, at least make sure that she has HC POA & see if she has the situation covered.
