I have one just like this one for sale. nice shooting little gun but weird action.Slide stays back after shot and will go forward when you let go of the trigger.And you can lock the bolt forward to shoot single shot.

    I have one that belonged to my dad he had it as long as I can remember . years before he passed I took it home cleaned it up and we ( Dad and I ) shot it in my back yard . I thought it was broke and he had never noticed that firing quirk, then I realized its the way its suppose to function until you let go of the trigger the bolt will stay back . that was maybe 35 years ago it has not been fired since that day.

    I thought the same thing so I researched it and found out more about the action.And the Gills are so you can blow the old wax away that used to be coated on older 22cal ammo.Guns built solid though.

    Have one of them I have been shooting for the past 45 years or so In my younger days I could shoot walnuts out of the trees for fun with the iron sights now I needs the scope .

    Yes the sears model had a spring loaded Sling that would go back inside the stock like a measuring tape Nice rifle. of days gone by
