I took 1 1/2" wide metal straps about the horizontal width of the door, drilled a hole in one end, spaced it out from the door about 1/4" then bolted (not too tight, needs to swing freely) it to the inside door panel. Made a piece of metal at the other end for this bar to hook into. This allows holsters to be slid onto the bar and hang. Have about 4 rows of these across the door. I've also used really heavy strip magnets covered with fabric to hold magazines, extra shotgun barrels and knives. Wish I could post a picture.

I've also seen guys use velcro/and holsters that stick to a compatable surface on the door.

For my shooters I used a piece of 1/4" plywood, went to Auto-Zone and got a some of their carpet, covered the plywood with it and used pieces of the leftover to make straps to hold them to the door, anchored the straps with screws and the carpet is thick enough the screws dont touch the gun ...

I go to the gunshow and buy the $4.00 safe door holsters with the velcro on them. It is very strong and damn hard to pull off. Easyly holds my handguns to the carpeted safe soor.

    Kimberkid,
What!, no revolvers? Nice collection....looks like you're a Kimber Master Dealer. I'd like the one in the upper right hand corner please.

Kimber, got enough pistols? Say, are you familiar with the Kimber conversion of the Swede Mauser? If so there is a guy on the experts forum who would like to talk to you.

Years ago, I used to have a a Python and an Anaconda, then one evening after an afternoon of shooting, when I unloaded the Python I had an "idiotic discharge" ... I dumped the rounds in my hand, wasn't paying attention and didn't notice one round didn't drop out, anyway, I closed the cylinder, dropped the hammer on an "empty chamber" which turned out to be NOT empty and blew a hole in my waterbed! ... I wasn't a big fan of revolvers anyway, but after that I lost interest in them completely ... scared the crap out of me and learned a valuable lesson while my ears were ringing ... fortunately no one else was home ...

Allen - no such thing as having too many

kimberkid, I see some room for a few more guns on that door. There is no such thing as too many guns, that's like having a motor too big, no way.

What you made there is good idea.

Just kidding about too many Kimber, actually I'm jealous. Do you know about that rifle or are just a pistol guy?

Ooops, sorry Allen! I looked real hard at the Kimber Mausers when I decided I wanted a 22-250, but I decided to build one on my own ... So I can't give a review. As its turning out I could have bought a Kimber for what this is going to end up costing ... but on the "up" side, I wanted a thumbhole stock which Kimber didn't offer ...

I've had a couple Kimber .22 rifles and they were excellent in fit, finish and butter smooth ... I would have a hard time beliveing Kimber not building everything to the same high standards ... but then I might be a little bias ...

Kimberkid--VEEEEEEEEERY nice ! I picked up a new Kimber Mauser here on GB brand new (7mm Rem Mag, stainless, heavy, fluted barrel on synthetic stock) for $300. I really wasn't in the market for one but I knew that I would be able to get an even trade for it on something more expensive down the road at the local gun store. I never shot it but the gunsmith that sold it to me was able to get MOA/sub-MOA after he glass-bedded the action.

    Scotch Tape.

If you will blame gun makers for every shooting then blame car maker for every car accident.
