How big does you wife think it is?

This coresponds with my previous post "How big is it?"

And for a second time, I'm not talking about that....

How big does your wife think your gun collection is? How big is it really? How do you keep her from finding out?

I just wish I had a dollar for every gun I wanted, then I'd be a rich man.

A heck of a lot bigger than she thinks it should be; not nearly as big as I think it should be

Wife helps me clean guns and chooses "pretty" guns on GB for me to bid on. That's how I ended up with a Browning Micro-Medallion in 22 Hornet and a Browning 22-250 Varmint with BOSS; because they were "pretty".

    More guns=Happy me!

I totally agreee with William. Mrs NJRETCOP is kept up to date on the current value of the guns in my collection. A list is kept inside the safe with the guns.

I have pictures of all my guns,With serial numbers, And value in a safety deposit box.My insurance agent has a copy of the pictures. He pointed out to me,That pictures make a big difference in the event of total loss.Things like custom stocks are hard to put a value on.With pictures he can ask a gunsmith the cost of duplicating custom work. Each gun picture has a note with it regarding internal parts.Be surprised how fast after market triggers can add up.

    Not a problem here, either.

My lovely and gracious Margie and I have a system - there is my money, her money, and our money. What she buys with her money is her business and vice versa. If I want, and can afford, a new gun, I get it. If she wants to "waste" her money on something frivolous like home improvement type stuff, she is free to do so!

It also helps that she enjoys shooting almost as much as I do, plus she sees firearm purchases as investments of a sort.

My wife knows exactly how many I have too. There's almost no way I could "sneak" one in, I don't own enough for that to work. Unfortunately, she's been talking about doing a lot of home improvements and stuff like that lately to which I've said "we don't have the money". So, now I'm unable to buy what I want (a new Kimber or Springfield 1911 style pistol) cause if I had enough money I'd have to do home improvements first...

Mrs. Gunpaq knows how many and where and has no problem with me getting more so long as I have no problem with her getting more of those Longenberger Baskets.

Good grief guys. I didn't realize that was hanging with such a bunch of honest folks! My wife thinks those 2 metal cabinets in the den are for document storage. What she doesn't know won't hurt her ... at least that is what my attorney told me.

Well, I'm not married but I keep my dad wondering constantly. Dad likes guns but only owns 2 (Ruger Red Label and granddad's ol' 16-ga single-shot from the Sears catalog). Whenever I go home I take along something that he hasn't seen before and let him hold/shoot it. He scratches his head because he still has no clue what I get paid in the Army. I think he's under the same impression that he was under when I enlisted--"Don't do it son. All you'll get is three hots and a cot!" I think dad thinks I have something going on the side. I just love to keep em wondering.

My wife knows exactly how many guns we own. Note I said "WE OWN" She still can't tell the difference between and AK and an SKS but she knows what the .22 Ruger rifle looks like. ;-)

I'm not married either. heck Idon't know how many I have... I'd have to count them up but it is about 55 or so. Now, my mom always said she didn't want to know, she is afraid the ATF is gonna kick down our door one of these days. Them there 98 Mausers, Schmidt-Rubins, and Marlin .22s sure are threats to our security. Wink wink.

Mine knows that I have alot but couldn't quote a number. I have provided her a detailed list of makes, models, conditions and values in the event of something happening. I don't keep the number from her they are just not visible as I have safes to secure them in. So the concept of "out of sight, out of mind" applies. She just doesn't have the interest in them that I do and says that i'm obsessed????? Smart woman.

If I don't know, I'm sure my wife doesn't know. If she did, she would probably quit buying more guns.
