MONTGOMERY - Saturday May, 11, 2002, citizens from all over the state will be gathered on the Alabama State Capitol Steps at 12:00 noon to show unified support for Chief Justice Roy Moore.
"This is one way citizens can stand with Chief Justice Roy Moore for upholding the moral foundation of the law by keeping the Ten Commandments" stated Kelly McGinley, Rally Chairman from Mobile.
"As a conservative talk show host in Mobile (WMOB - Retaking America), I have received a great outpouring of phone calls for Chief Justice Roy Moore and people insisted on showing support for the Chief so we are having a rally and prayer walk around the State Judicial Building" McGinley added.
The Master of Ceremonies at the rally beginning at the State Capitol will be Rally Chairman Kelly McGinley, followed by a prayer led by Reverend Carmen Falcione of Montgomery. Guest speakers include Christian Coalition of Alabama President John Giles, Kayla Moore - Judge Moore's wife, Steve Melchoir - Attorney for Chief Justice Moore and the Honorable Perry O. Hooper, Sr. - Former Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
The keynote speaker will be William J. Federer, Author of "America's God and Country." Reverend Phillip Ellen of Crosspoint Community Church will give the closing prayer. "Immediately following the rally, their will be a prayer walk down historic Dexter Avenue continuing around the Judicial Building" McGinley further stated. Rally Chairman McGinley has been encouraging churches all over the state to bring busloads to Montgomery to stand with Judge Moore and the Ten Commandments. "We expect Chief Justice Moore to attend the rally, say a few words and greet the crowd" concluded McGinley.
