It was an interesting day of T.V. watching for me.
They had shows on Stalin, Hitler, The Killing Fields, Osama BinLaden, The Nazi party, and the KKK.
The horror that many have experienced sure sickened me.
Two things that also stuck in my mind were, bad things happen when those looking for someone to lead them happen to choose a madman for a leader. Arsenals or massive gun collections were mentioned during the Ruby Ridge and Waco massacres. It was almost as if these people ownings firearms was a good excuse to kill them.

Sodbuster: The people didn't realize the leader was a madman. I doubt if Stalin, Mao Tze-tung or Hitler were "mad" men; just cruel and brutal. After all, people like leaders who have simplistic solutions (e.g., invade a country because it "might" be a threat).[}:)]

    HAIRY:
quote:The people didn't realize the leader was a madman.
I think after time they did realize the madness of their leader, however by then it was too late.
Another common tactic by these madmen was to eliminate all who might be a threat.
The rest of your post is unreadable,,,,something must be wrong with my computer!![;)]

Hey sod, I watch the History Channel almost every day! (sometimes only for a few minutes, but almost every day nonetheless!). It is probably the best channel I receive and I have about 400+.

I watched parts of the Hitler and KKK program(s), very interesting (and disturbing).

I can say for certain that at least some people who follow these "madmen" really DON'T know the truth. I've said it before on this forum but my grandfather was an officer for the Nazi army in WWII and he was totally convinced that Hitler's propaganda was true. My grandfather thought that Hitler was going to build roads and schools and improve life for the ordinary German and Austrian. Remember, Hitler came to power in hard times and people just wanted to believe that somebody would help. Hitler was an excellent communicator and he was able to build support by telling the people what they wanted to hear.

Hey Interstatepawnlic: Didn't Hitler invade Poland because Poland invaded Germany--or so the propaganda went. After all, Poland was a major power, had already told the world that certain parts of Europe belonged to the Poles living in those countries and that Poland had a right to bring all Poles under its National Soverneigty.[;)]

I wathchd it and didn't like their analogy
white hate groups = Skin Heads = American Nazi Pary = Christian (especially armed Christians) = anti Jewish groups = militias and of course all these groups had one thing in common. GUNS

There are hate groups there's no denying that but just because I'm a Christian who owns a firearm that does not equate to anti Jew, anti black, and so on. I AM NOT.

Militia, now I'm gonna have to think about that one. One man ready to defend his land from threats both foriegn and domestic does that equal militia? It's the old smoke and mirrors trick. In the same breath they speak of hate groups they mention militia. In the same breath they mention drugs they throw in guns.

Oh yeah! I do like the History Channel. It's my favorite.

Wasn't the fella from that southern poverty law place doing most of the 'propaganda' talk that you mentioned??

Yes Sod, I believe he was. Old Morris is on a whitch hunt. People talk about McCarthy on his commie hunt. This guy pales in comparison.

One of Mr. D's reporters did a story in one of his publications regarding hate groups. I don't have it here as it is in my desk at work. I think it's the Southern Poverty Law Institute "Intelligence Report." In it he accused me of being a racist hate monger because I spoke against the homosexual lifestyle and the fact that our nation was founded on Christian principles and not those of Budhist or Hindus. I was instantly labled a danger. The best part of the article was the fact the reporter never interviewed me but he seems to know me better than my own mother.

Maybe it's best he didn't talk to me. If he discovered I love to hunt, fish, shoot, and play with guns he may have equated me to Hitler, Saddam, and Pol Pott. Care must be taken here. I do not hate Budhist, Hindus, or homosexuals. I was just stating facts but the facts were twisted by the same kind of people who like to twist the wording on the second ammendment.
