Haven't heard anything from you in a while, and just thought I'd see how things are going with getting the house. Hope it's all good still. Last time you posted it sounded like things were really close to being a done deal. Is it still that way? I had a week and a half off during the Fourth of July holiday, and the wife and I spent about four days doing painting, fixing-up, and removing old wallpaper. As things stand now, it's looking like we'll have a new address the first of August. Give me me a holler back and let me know how things are going.

Hey Brth729. Thinks are going good here. Not sure what the last I mentioned but our house offer was accepted. We wanted the furnace checked out by a professional as the CO level was a little too high. Just got the results back this weekend and things look good. It just needed a cleaning and tuning. Our closing date isn't until the 3rd week of August so that gives us a little time to buy some of the essentials yet spread the cost out some. I don't know about you but this is our first house so there'll be those usual things that apartment dwellers never needed. Today I started shopping for the home owners policy as we'll need proof of that before closing.

Seems like things are going pretty good for the two of you. I'm sure we'll be doing the standard repaint and refinish on some items when we first move in too. Sounds like we've both had smooth sailing so far. Too good to be true when you look at all the advice people posted to my original question?

Glad to hear things are still going good. I think you said something about the furnace last time, but can't remember for sure. I got a surprise call from our agent last night. Seeing the name and number on the caller-ID kind of made my heart skip a second or two, but fortunately it was good news. He said that with everything having gone as smoothly as it has, we may go to closing as soon as the end of next week. It is all going to depend on what type of flight the lady we're buying the house from can get. Currently she's living in Pennsylvania. This is going to be our first house together too, so I know what you're saying about having to get house type essentials. Luckily enough I talked her into leaving the appliances, so that will save us some. Once again I'm glad to hear things are still going good, and hope they continue that way. Let me know if things change.
