I knew I liked my father-in-law for a reason.

I had gone out earlier in the day to do a little shooting, and while sitting and cleaning the guns I had taken with me my father-in-law had stopped by. He wanted to check with my wife about some plans they were making for her moms' birthday. When he saw what I was doing, he made himself comfortable, picked one up one I hadn't done yet, and started cleaning. I didn't ask him to, and wasn't going to tell him not to. Having seen how he treats his own guns, he is one of very few people I would object to handling or much less cleaning any of mine. It's kind of funny actually. He's not a very social person. He's very quiet and reserved. If I hadn't of had them out at the time, I don't think he would have stayed as long as he did. But, as it happened, he ended up staying for nearly three hours. We didn't spend that whole time cleaning, in fact with him helping it only took about thirty-five minutes. The rest of the time we traded stories and had a few laughs. After he left I had to laugh a little more. I don't know to many other people who would have done what he did.

Does that mean he is incompetent with a firearm? In any event it was nice that the two of you got to talk. He sounds like a good father-in-law.

Sorry beantole. SaxonPig is right. I did leave out the "not".
