Whittier, California-AP -- A California man accused of asphyxiating five of his six children by lighting a charcoal grill indoors has pleaded innocent to murder and attempted murder charges.Adair Garcia stood in a glass cage today as his attorney entered his plea. Spectators were ordered to sit in the far side of the courtroom before Garcia was led in.Garcia remains in custody without bail on murder charges that make him eligible for the death penalty.Prosecutors will not decide whether to pursue the death penalty until sometime after an April 15th preliminary hearing.The telephone company technician is charged with murdering five of his children and attempting to murder another, who survived.Authorities say Garcia intended to kill the children and himself. They say he and his wife were having marital problems.Seriously I don't know what the hell is wrong with people anymore! I guess the trend is that if one has problems just go ahead and kill a kid and that will correct everything.[This message has been edited by alledan (edited 03-19-2002).]
