More reliable?

Which is more reliable and durable? A gas system like a Desert Eagle, and Benelli M4, or a plain recoil system like a Glock, or Benelli M3. What are the pros and cons of both?
Sorry for so many questions, I just love learning, and understanding every thing I can about guns. THANKS

This one is kind of tough to answer o I will keep it simple. My vote for reliability/durability is the traditional Browning design type recoil action.Too much mainteance with gas systems.

I have used shotguns with both types of systems. A gas system would be more likely to malfunction first, if you were using powder that left excess residue. I had some federal shotgun ammo like that. The recoil system (Benelli SBE and others) do not allow gas (and therefore contaminates) into the operating system.
In Argentina, where they shoot 1000 to 2000 rounds a day at doves, at the end of the day, the only shotguns still operating are O/Us and Benellis.
