Stupid people who own dangerous animals should be put away.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

That could have just as easily been a human baby or small child.

And if it was a child, and I was on the scene, I would have had my AK out to kill that dog quicker than Kelly could say, "You shouldn't own that gun!"

Irresponsible people who do not control their (dangerous animal) "pets" shouldn't be standing in the public limelight telling us responsible people how we should live.

Big rock... meet Mr. Lockjaw.... Sweet dreams [}:)] Or steel-toes, or other blunt instruments applied with a little more enthusiasm than shown by the strap slapping female. Plus what an idiot the other one was tugging on the seal pup like that. Probably made the dog think it was playtime [:(]

    What irony.

The pit bull was only acquiring the baby seal to show how easy it is for anyone to get one. After making his point the pitbull planned to turn the seal in to the fish and game dept.

Why was the dog off leash? Because what we have here is an irresponsible dog owner.

I really think he would make a great politician though!

That resort is less than 5 miles from my house. I would have loved to been walking by when that happened. There would be one less pit bull on the planet today. I hope the Calif Fish & Game wardens get wind of this.

Dog had a leash on (it can be seen in the video). But I suspect they let it run like that so that they could claim it just got away from them.

That dog was just doing what dogs do. Dogs are predators, pointy teeth, eyes facing forward. You aren't going to undo a million years of evolution, no matter how much you wish it were otherwise.

I think I've owned one dog in my whole life and I've had a bunch, that wouldn't have headed towards that baby seal and latched on. And the one who would have ignored the Seal, was fixated on Rabbits.

In fact a double whammy, all predators will kill the young of other predators, even the young of the same species on occasion. Even the young of lesser females in a pack environment.

Oh the the poor wittle (sic) Fox.

That blood lust will make them crazy aggressive.

    I couldn't watch the video.
Typical female response to a crisis, either scream and do nothing, or else, do something that makes things worse.

One gal slapped the dog with a piece of seaweed, how stupid can you get? It looked like being hit with a feather.

The other gal pulled hard on the baby seal's hind paws. Since the seal's neck was locked in the dog's jaws, this woman's actions strangled the seal.

Dogs are also pack animals. If their human owners are "the pack leader" they won't initiate "the hunt" on their own.

Irresponsible dog owners are not the pack leader and thus, cannot control their animals.

Only a few ways I know of to get them to let loose, none of them pretty. The best way is to put a stick between there jaws and jam it down their throat (as gently as possible), they gag and let loose. If you stick a thumb in their eyes, really deep, they will let loose. A bucket of water may do something, maybe. Slapping them across the eyes may do something.

You run a Rabbit by a dog, any dog and they are going to lunge. You can control them, but it gets really iffy at times. I've seen very few dogs that will sit there and wait for permission to chase. Most times you catch them with a command before they completely loose control, but their first instinct is to chase, then latch on.

    It's what they do.

Very few robot dogs on the planet, few fit a persons fantasy about what a perfect dog should be, in most cases it is what it is; a dog..

Dogs are trainable, even Pit Bulls. Dogs can be trained to leave certain creatures alone. You can have your dog rattle snake proofed for example.

If you have a dog on a leash and you let it get away from you, you are responsible and you may just loose your dog from someone trying to stop an attack. The least what should happen is the owner of that dog be fined by Fish & Game.

Bottom line, if you cannot control your dog, don't own one.

I have always had good luck by grabbing their back legs, and flipping them upside down.

You're right about that, I've trained all my dogs not to run Deer, though it was kind of iffy in the beginning.

The owners screwed up that is a fact, but stuff happens.

Thankfully they are famous, if that would have been me, I'd likely be jailed. Hopefully my dog would be impounded and not shot or just left on the beach to fend for himself while I was waiting for somebody to bail me out or animal control to show up.

They needed a braking stick, I got a 52 pounder that can make that cur quit and take a crap in less than 5 min.

This man should be put on the "No Buy" list for already owning an assault weapon, his attack dog.

Way to go Mr. Astro Man, back here on earth we live in reality. What planet do you come from?

Will Mark Kelly be cited for violating the leash law? I doubt it but if it were the average Joe Schmow he woul be in jail and the dog put down.

Amerika, don't you just love it. Ruled by royalty of all sorts.

"Bothering or disturbing a protected Seal is a federal crime. It don't make a dimes worth of difference if the dog got away from the daughter.
She or he should have been cited. I've seen cites for far less.
