Hypethetical Question for Consealed Carriers

I was just reading a post of the types of weapons people are carrying for their carry weapons. I was just wandering, if you were forced to use deadly force in an altercation and you ended up killing your assailant and there were no witnesses to verify your story, would you call the police and take your chances with a trial by jury or would you get the hell outa dodge and hope you never had to hear about the incident ever again? If you did leave, would you get rid of the gun? Try to be honest with your answers, I know that under the immense stress of this type of scenario you may act differently, but try to imagine how you would think you would react.

I think if you left the scene, even if you were only defending your life when you fired, you would then be guilty...
