[?][?]quote:We don't know who would have been more surprised: the fisherman who found a human finger inside a fish he was cleaning, or the trout that swallowed it. Nolan Calvin put the finger on ice after he found it in the fish from Priest Lake, Idaho, and called the sheriff's office. Detectives matched the fingerprint to Haans Galassi, 31, of Colbert, Wash., who'd lost four fingers in the lake two months earlier in a wakeboarding accident. After locating Galassi, the sheriff offered to return his finger. "I'm like, 'uhhh, I'm good,'" said Galassi. Detective Sgt. Gary Johnston observed, "There's still three more, too. It's hard to say where those are going to end up

Strange.
So... the trout ate a 2 month old finger?
Strange.
Or it has a really slow Digestive system.
The digestive system on a trout is certainly slower than many animals, but even one day in the stomach of a trout would make it impossible to read a finger print (at the very least). After a couple of days, you would not be able to tell if it was a finger or a minnow (other than from the bone).
If the guy lost his fingers two DAYS earlier (rather than 2 months), I might believe the story.
Really need to read the comments[:o)]
I call BS on this whole thing.

Agreed. Absolutely no way the fish swallowed the finger and not digested it in that time. I have cleaned a many of trout ( they have stomachs )

,,,,why overlook the obvious,,,,,trout = cold water = preserved finger on bottom = eaten by trout shortly before being caught ,,,,[:0]
Pipe-dream? [:p]
Throw a piece of meat (finger) on a trotline in a lake just overnight, and it doesn't come up looking like it did when it went in.
I thought of that - but how in the heck is a finger "preserved" in a lake for almost two weeks without other fish, insects, crawfish, or other things eating on it?

Priest lake is big, and deep. The water to fish ratio is rather large.

I sold that nice Hk O/U to a gentleman in Wisconsin I know. Knew I slaughtered birds but didn't know I had two of them. I will be up there shooting some hungarian partridge this fall.
