Careful Hairy, it's worth $4000 at most, probably less as it's been rebound.

So many "original" KJV Bibles have been modernly reproduced one would need to have its age authenticated before any serious bidding. An original first edition (1613) would be worth about 4-10 grand, but a modern repro would go maybe 3-4 hundred. Caveat emptor!

Here is a web site that lists many ancient Bibles for sale. They value the 1613 "First Edition" at 8 to 10 Grand.

What is the oldest Bible or book you do own?

I have a Bible from 1937 written in Norwegian. It was my Great Great Grandfather Ole. I believe it was published in Stavenger.

I also have a New Testament from 1854. One column is written in Norwegian and the other column is written in English, also from my Great Great Grandfather.

They are just books on the shelf, but they are of a heritage.

I've seen up close a number of manuscripts from that era and older--from the pictures, I'd say this smacks of a copy. Doesn't appear to have "yellowed" enough for that age.

Saw one of the originals of the Magna Carta in the Royal Library in London. I was pretty impressed at how well it had been kept. 1215, that makes it pretty old. Oldest I own are reptile books from the late 1800s.

Well, I was able to buy Adam's fig leaf Adam when I was in Egypt. The owner swore it was authentic and it sure looked old. Besides, I was able to steal it for only $750.00.

Depends on what it's written on.

A good quality rag or lint/or linen
paper will not yellow or become
fragile.
