Thinking about what David is going through and what a lot of you know about. I try to understand how people can "grow apart" or "fall out of love" or any other euphemism for marital euthanasia. Its like the death of a family member, you don't know what its like until it happens to you. I equate breakups with a death in the family since I have experience with that.
My folks were highschool sweethearts, got married as soon as my dad got his stripes[and won enough in a poker game to buy a nice diamond ring] A couple of days ago they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. I'm one of ten kids they raised and none of us turned out to be bums. I've been with my wife for twenty years,so have all my married brothers and sisters,20 or more.Only my baby sister has been divorced, twice. Her men choosing skills have got to be seen to believe.
Well I was not trying to make anyone feel bad. I was just thinking of how my siblings and I stay married forever because we learned it from our folks by example. Except my baby sister, but shes blonde, runs three marathons a week[shes cut back from five],plays violin from Motzart to Foggy Mountain Breakdown,is ready to move up to a full size Harley and will frighten you tearing up the heavy bag. Poor thing will spend the remainder of her life waiting for an incarnation of Superman to happen by.She actually ran seven miles to meet me where I had fixed her car on the side of the road. I told her to atleast have the decency to perspire or breathe heavy. If I ran a block I would require knee surgery and dramamine.
I think I'll go see the folks tomorrow and tell them 9 out of 10 ain't too shabby.
Big Daddy my heros have always been cowboys, they still are it seems
