Too much junk in cars now.

The wifes gonna love this....we are constantly getting recalls about something...
I thought Chrysler/Jeep were that same now days..
Chrysler bought Jeep several years back,it was the only thing that save them other than MB....Now The "Ities" own them...
I wouldn't mind computers in cars so much if they weren't so inaccessible, secretive and costly to deal with. As it is only the manufacturer and hackers knows what is hidden within. You cannot fix it yourself and it will cost you a small fortune when it finally breaks.
Now there are fancy vehicles running around with the name tag on them.[:(!]
but they were hacking an app not the car,
I could be wrong, only caught half the story.
I don't know if it makes a difference

They were able to control most systems in the vehicle, and shut off the engine while it was driving.
This is a vulnerability in many things that are connected to the web, from vehicles to medical devices. And most of these companies want driverless cars where are totally at the mercy of computers, because we all know they work perfectly all the time.
