Guess what I got in the mail

Give up?

A nice letter from the tax department of Ohio. I filed an amended return in Feb, I had already received my refund from Ohio so all paperwork had to be redone. With the 1040X I sent the $63.00 I owed in extra taxes with the voucher and paperwork required, showing my error. The check was cashed. About ten days later I received the same $63.00 back as an additional refund.

I called the tax department. The nice lady said I should have filed a voucher with the forms. Then in the next breath she said the voucher was in the system and all the paperwork was fine. Her recommendation was to "wait until it was closer to April to send in the check". I still have no freaking idea what a voucher is but am tickled pink they are showing one in the system.

Weeks later I received more paperwork with a copy of my original voucher. I followed the instructions to the letter and sent the check for $63.00 that I owed, it cleared my bank on 3/27. Every body is happy right?

Wrong.

Yesterday I got a notice of amount due of $63.00 plus 23 cents in interest. I wrote a nice letter attaching copies of BOTH canceled checks and the screen print of the refund of the first $63.00.

It is clear by copies of documentation they have the $63.00 owed; does anyone have any confidence it will get fixed before the end of 2016? I sure don't.
