...off and on today, I have watched the History Channel,and it was a good thing...I now know that the first casualty of the Rebels( Colonies vs England) was a black man....and how another black man was
given a medal for being on Omaha Beach!I know a black woman won the war for Texas!....Black folks were brought over as slaves in 1682...by the Massachusetts Colonists...George Washington was able to win the war when he crossed the Delaware, and his black servant gave him the courage to go into battle...Now, I know some don't believe this , but it was on television, and television teaches history !Some of this report was narrated by Al Sharpton and Colin Powell...

When I was growing up,we had an "Aunt Mahalia"....does that count?....Uncle Ben "converted rice"....
I don't detract from the heroism of anyone, blacks included; and certainly there have been many black soldiers who have served with distinction in the history of the nation. But don't re-write history to give prominence where none is due, for that cheapens the accomplishments of men of any color who truly DID do heroic things.
