Clemson University Apartment fire UPDATE

Got a call from my son. Apartment fire across the drive from his.Big fire with three buildings totally ablaze. He had to evacuate while FD hoses his building. Gonna be a long night. Update from 3 am. No injuries but a total loss. They did save the surrounding apartments. 3 buildings destroyed.

Compentone, my sons apartment faces the apartment that burnt. He said the story was a girl hair caught on fire off of a candle. She ran thru the apartment and set the curtains on fire. The rest is history. I don't believe anyone was injured. Fire dept. made them leave their building. Thankfully the wind was blowing away from his apartment. He called again this morning and said 150 some students are out of housing now. Most students lost everything. It will be on the news tonight probably.

(For those not familiar with SC, Clemson is the "Agricultural" university in the state--and the butt of many jokes.)

Glad to hear reports are that there are no injuries--but have to wonder how the girl is if the story is true?
