Bullet lube

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good bullet lube to run in my Lyman 450 lube/sizer. I haven't cast bullets in many year but I found some unsized under my reloading bench, so I guess I have to load them now. There was a recipe from the NRA many years ago but its long gone now.

While there have been lots of advances since then which may well have changed things, many years ago the NRA did a study of all the bullet lubes then on the market (plus any 'old standbys' of verbal legend) & determined the best was a 50/50 mix of beeswax & Alox [something or other - 38F?]. The Lyman lube used to match this profile. If you can't find any easily, contact me directly; I have more than I will ever use.

Really ANY good bullet lube should work for you; personally I don't bother with Lyman's expensive press and sizer requiring top punches, etc; I use Lee and their liquid alox with no problem. However, sometimes I have been known to use stick lube and in that case I like RCBS melted with 50% beeswax. Melting it though might make it hard to get into the lubesizer.

Iconoclast, Thanks for the info, we are finally going to have a gun show next month, Ventura, Kalifornia, I'll look for some there.

Jonk, I've had my 450 a long time before there was a LEE, I kinda like it. Thanks for your response.
